Generic big city with skyscrapers
Redeemed only by the compelling but gruesome War Remnants Museum (formerly the Museum of American War Attrocities) which shows in graphic but horrible detail the effects of the American Vietnam campaign. It’s obviously very one sided but when you see the effects of Napalm and Agent Orange you can’t help being appalled. There’s also a stunning exhibition of war photography from reporters of both sides that’s well worth seeing.
Only other thing of note was the excellent walking tour from Adam at Trails and Tales – a three hour intro to some of the more obscure bits of HCMC’s history.
And that was it for Vietnam, we’re Sai-gone to Cambodia…..
